Spread the love

If you ask a Delhiite what two things about the city most appeal to them, they will say the rich history and delectable cuisine.Delhi is a melting pot of cultures and races, which adds to the diversity of the city’s culinary offerings. City is brimming with culinary delights, from Chandni Chowk to Majnu ka Tilla.

Delhi has become a food city unlike any other in India due to the deep love affair Delhiites have with their food.

Have you ever tried the food in Delhi? No, not really. Not till you’ve checked off a few items on your bucket list.

So, without further ado, here is my list of some of Delhi’s most famous foods. Here’s how it goes:

1.Khandani Pakode Wala

Pakoras with veggies and other fillings dipped in gram flour batter and deep-fried, are an old Delhi staple, especially during the rainy months of the monsoon.Khandani Pakode Wala (11, Ring Road Market, Sarojini Nagar) a little shop in a market packed with car technicians and merchants of vehicle accessories, is a must-visit for those in the know.

They include all kinds of Indian veggies cut up, batter-wrapped, and dipped into a cauldron of sizzling oil, producing the crisp crunch that Delhiites enjoy. On weekends, a swarm of anxious customers arrives with bags stuffed with cauliflower, spinach, potato, onion, and cottage cheese pakoras.

If you enjoy all things Indian, Kulcha King is the place to be. We especially enjoy the gravalicious Chaap Tikka offered here. The flavorful goodness is packed with spices, and it’s a match made in heaven when served with a rumali roti. There are a variety of different foods to sample here, like Achari Chaap, Mix Kulcha, and Paneer Kulcha, to mention a few.

Nobody can deny that a nicely grilled sandwich is irresistible. And when it’s loaded with fresh veggies and cheese, you know you won’t be able to stop yourself from devouring the whole thing. These guys are known for providing a ridiculous amount of sandwiches, 35 to be exact, and you’ll want to try them all. We can certainly picture ourselves munching down here in the bustling market.

4. Dolma Aunty Momos

The residents of south Delhi go to Lajpat Nagar’s bustling Central Market for more than just discounts. Dolma Aunty Momos, tucked away near Ragini Creations in sector 39-B, is one of the greatest places to get a real flavour of Tibet.

For the past thirty years, the same family has been providing these freshly steamed vegetarian and non-vegetarian dumplings, and the quality of the product may be measured by the queue of customers patiently waiting their turn. If you’re in more than a nibbling mood, the affordable pricing allows you double helpings. But take it easy with the fiery chutney; it’ll leave you with a lot of bad memories.
